I have always liked the Sog style sawback blade so was extremely pleased to receive one in my Christmas stocking! (Thanks Santa Betty). The blade, another from Two Fingers Knives of Idaho Falls, measures 5 3/4 inches is made out of D2 steel.
This was also the first hidden tang knife I have built and the first time I have used Sambar Stagg as a handle material. I have to thank Bruce Bump for his great tutorial on hidden tang construction on Knifedogs.com.
This was also the first guard I have profiled. It started as a piece of brass bar stock that I drilled fitted and profiled using a 6 inch wheel. I was very pleased with how it turned out. I am overall very happy with how she turned out and can't wait to take her out hunting this fall and look foward to working with stagg again!! I also have to thank Betty for putting up with me and my new hobby:)
Here are a couple more photos for your consideration.
